It’s only been a week since @chswineandfood, and I’m already excited for 2020. Such an amazing few days of incredible food, drinks and new experiences. Thanks again for following, here are a few other scenes from the week. What were your favorite events this year?
Sunday Brunch is always a favorite of mine, and yesterday’s @indacochas Rosé Brunch for @chswineandfood was one to remember. Chef Michael Holler creates a 4-course meal each with their own Rosé pairing, including this Blueberry Sorbetto with @jansztasmania Brut. #chswff
Glamping in style at “Corkscrews & Campfires” during @chswineandfood. Lots to come on the last day of Charleston Wine + Food, gonna be a fun day.
Last night we celebrated everything BBQ at Smokin’ In The Boys Room (with incredible meats from land and sea). @chswineandfood @todayfood
This morning I went out to Lady Island (right outside Beaufort, SC) for Raising Shell. @ladyislandoysters is South Carolina’s only oyster hatchery, and one of 15 in the country. Led by Frank Roberts, we went on a tour to learn all about how oysters make their way from the hatchery to harvest. All followed by an incredible lunch from Chef Nico Romo of @nicoshemcreek. @chswineandfood @todayfood
This morning was one of the most memorable experiences I’ve had at @chswineandfood so far. Truffle Shuffle was an excursion showcasing @urbanitruffles in dishes from @babasoncannon, @darling_oyster_bar and @edmundsoast. Paired with wines from Italy’s Piedmont region from @thepiedmontguy, this tuber was used in everything from an incredible Chocolate Cake with truffle ice cream (topped with shaved truffle) to a Crab and Asparagus Risotto where we were taught proper techniques to shaving truffles. What’s for dinner: The Bi Bim Bop Skillet from @jackofcupssaloon. This unassuming bar on Center Street serves up an eclectic menu of global pub grub - absolutely worth a visit out to Folly Beach.

Had to stop by @eobrewing today for the last @shortgrain pop-up. Part of the reason why I love doing what I do is because of the amazing people behind the food in the Charleston F&B community. Congrats on an incredible few years Shuai and Corrie, I can’t wait to experience what’s next at @jackrabbitfilly later this year. 🙌
Wednesday’s are for @jackofcupssaloon Curry Night at James Island’s @paddockandwhisky. Always an incredible menu, especially the Chick Pea Curry.
I had the pleasure of being a guest emcee alongside @theleebros at the @certifiedsc “Fresh On The Menu” stage earlier today! Chef Brandon Velie from @juniperlicious prepared Quail and Dumplings, using quail from @manchesterquail out of Columbia. #Switcharoo is one of my favorite (and more unique) food events in Charleston. One night a year at @edmundsoast, chefs become bartenders and bartenders become chefs, all to benefit @bensfriendscharleston. Everyone absolutely brought it last night, can’t wait until next year.
Celebrated #nationalpizzaday early yesterday at the Green Door Reunion Tour with @rotirollschs and @firstnamebasisco. If you never had a chance to experience it, Green Door was very forward-thinking restaurant back in 2013 from Cory at @rotirollschs that was an absolute favorite of mine. Some of the iconic dishes from then returned in pizza form, making for an incredible (and nostalgic) night.
Headed out to Folly to check out one of the newest additions to Charleston, @wikiwikisandbar. The Spammy is a must (with brown sugar-cured Spam), along with a cocktail, of course. Such a fun spot- check out Instagram Stories to see more!
