Sunday Brunch. It’s is an essential part of any weekend in the Lowcountry, and the Holy City never has a shortage of both new (and all time favorite) brunch spots to enjoy during your next Sunday Funday, the day that's better than a Monday. (Hat tip to You're The Worst of FX). This past weekend, I went to one of my favorite brunch spots downtown, LeFarfalle.
LeFarfalle is the well known Italian restaurant near Lower King by chef Michael Toscano. Tuscano moved to Charleston around 2 years ago from New York, and was the executive chef behind Perla, Montmartre, and Jeffrey's Grocery in NYC.
For brunch, we started with the Dirty Fried Rice. This dish features their Blackened Daily Catch (Catfish this time around) with ‘Nduja, Crispy Fried Egg, Hot Sopressata and Pickled Peppers.
Tuscano and LeFarfalle are well known for their homemade pastas, and the Rotolo is a hearty brunch dish that needs to be on your list. This baked dish is simple, yet flavorful, with Baked Pasta Pinwheels, Bolognese Ragu, and Parmigiano Reggiano.
